Our Foundational Story: 40+ Years of Unwavering Commitment
Founder's Story
The legacy of the Faiz E Aam Trust began with the profound empathy of our founder, Janab Zulfeqar Husain. In 1982, moved by the tragedy of orphaned children in Aurangabad, this visionary social worker and former Director of Bombay Mercantile Cooperative Bank was prompted to act. The Trust was officially established in 1984 in Aurangabad, with a branch opening in Hyderabad the same year, committing to rehabilitation and self-sufficiency for the needy.
What is Faiz-e-Aam?
Faiz-e-Aam means "providing benefit to all, irrespective of caste, colour, creed, religious or regional affiliations."The Trust is not named after any person, living or dead, but after the universal purpose for which it stands.
Our strength lies in our non-denominational approach. We assist the impoverished and poor, regardless of faith or background. This secular commitment ensures that your charity provides a safety net for all vulnerable communities in India.
Expanding the Mission
Today, under the guidance of our current Chairperson Mrs Farukh Parveen in Auragabad and secretary, Iftekhar Husain Fida Ali in Hyderabad, and honouring key figures like the late Dr. Shamshad Hussain (FRCS) and Zahid Ali Khan (Siasat Urdu daily), our mission remains robust and transparent.

How the Kapda Bank
The Kapda Bank, established in association with the Siasat Daily and the Helping Hands , is a vital part of the Faiz E Aam Trust’s commitment to providing comprehensive relief and restoring dignity to the impoverished. This initiative goes beyond monetary aid to meet the basic, yet critical, need for proper clothing.
How the Kapda Bank Works:
Collection and Care: Used clothes are collected, meticulously washed, ironed, and neatly packed.
Systematic Distribution: Distribution is managed daily and systematically among the needy people in and around Hyderabad and its suburbs.
Scale of Impact: Since its launch on April 29, 2016, the initiative has distributed over 56,000 pairs of dresses and maintains a stock of more than 10,000 items at any given time.
Beyond Clothing: The Kapda Bank also collects and distributes other essential utility items, including footwear, ladies' purses, belts, and toys. Special packs are even created for brides and grooms.
Crisis Response: During times of distress like riots, floods, or natural disasters (such as in Jammu & Kashmir, Patna, and Delhi), hundreds of dresses and warm clothing are dispatched as crucial emergency aid. A special drive is undertaken every winter to provide warm clothes and blankets to those sleeping on pavements across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
By supporting the Faiz E Aam Trust, you help sustain initiatives like the Kapda Bank, which provides both relief and a sense of dignity to vulnerable families.
Many people are stepping forward with their generosity. You too can play an important part. Your contribution brings warmth and comfort to those in need.
